Director disqualified over conflict of interest and misuse of trust money

Graham Mark Buller has been disqualified as a director for six years for causing his company to breach its duties as a corporate trustee, by allowing the company to misuse funds held in trust following the death of a previous director.

Dr Mahfouz El-Tawil (74), a hotelier of Torquay and sole director of Trade Development and Investment Limited, which traded as the Oke Lodge Hotel in Exeter has been disqualified from acting as a company director for six years, for failing to ensure the company kept proper books and records.

Shaun Standen, a disqualified director - already serving a ban for breaching a previous disqualification - was handed a suspended prison sentence, a night to daytime curfew, tagging and ordered to pay costs for acting as a director while disqualified, following a hearing at Exeter Crown Court on 31 January 2014.


11-year ban for director who breached disqualification terms

Shaun Bright was disqualified for 11 years at Portsmouth County Court on 4 December 2013 for acting as a shadow director in breach an original 7 year ban, which was imposed on him in 2006. This follows an investigation by the Insolvency Service.

New measures to streamline insolvency regulation announced
